What about treatment if taking pharmaceutical medicines?

It is advisable to inform your doctor that you are having alternative treatment. It may be possible to reduce or even stop some types of medication, but you should always consult with your doctor regarding these changes. It can be helpful to tell your practitioner about any medications you are taking, as they may reflect in the function and tissue structure of the body, and is helpful information to enable the best treatment.

This same principle also applies to animals taking medications from your veterinary surgeon.

Is treatment painful?

Treatments at The Home Clinic are far from painful, in fact most people report treatments to be refreshingly effective without having to experience any further discomfort at all.

Animals warm to treatments very quickly and often rush to the practitioner to receive their follow up treatments.

Can I receive treatments if I am pregnant?

Treatments at The Home Clinic are always gauged to suit the individual person, whether fragile, robust or undergoing great hormonal and physical changes as in pregnancy. How does Bowen differ to Chiropractic or Osteopathy?

Bowen treatments apply subtle physical releases to the muscle and fascia to affect alignment of the skeletal system and joints, remedy injury, and address weakness, adhesions, spasms and trauma. Once aligned the body needs no further adjustments to maintain itself. Chiropractic and Osteopathy use subtle or abrupt shifts directly to the joints and skeletal system to realign the body, ongoing repeated alignment is often necessary.

Treatments, How Many, How Often?

For Pain, Injuries & Conditions

Two treatments are recommended at first usually 4 to 7 days apart depending on the severity of pain and urgency of the condition. This allows the practitioner to treat you, assess your response to treatment, and observe your bodys capacity to improve between treatments.

By the end of second treatment, if you have not already achieved your health goal, your practitioner will be able to give you a good indication about how many more treatments you made need and how regular these would have to be to achieve your desired outcome.

Generally 3 to 8 treatments at 7 to 14 day intervals have proven sufficient for most people to reach their desired health goal.

For Stress Management / Relaxation

3 treatments at weekly intervals are highly recommended to provide a good level of improvement to your health.

Then further sessions can be attended at intervals to suits your needs,eg.weekly. monthly or quarterley.

Many people benefit from regular treatments. Why not join them and enjoy improved  health and well being year on year.
